Police conducted a large drug raid operation this week on 18 properties simultaneously, leading to 171 charges being laid. 18 people in total were arrested and charged with offences relating to the supply of cannabis.

They were scheduled to appear in Parramatta, Wyong and Gosford local courts. Leslie Peter Worth, 69, Kenneth McCudden, 38, and Hang Van Vu, 33, faced Parramatta Bail Court on a number of drug supply related charges, and will be seeking expert legal advice.

The three men have been denied bail; with magistrate Michael Price formally refusing it. McCudden’s charges also included the management of crime earnings and all three men have been charged with the knowing participation of a criminal organization.

A 38-year-old man from Bondi Junction was arrested and charged with 60 offences to include 35 counts of distributing cannabis, he did not, however, appear in Parramatta Bail Court. The further 14 people charged were mainly residents of the central coast.

The police raid, executed by Strike Force Whitmont, involved 145 officers and led to the detainment of over 20 kilograms of cannabis found within houses in Campsie, Cabramatta, North Sydney, Bondi, Tuggerah Lakes, Forster, Central Hunter and Tamworth.
