How Is An ADVO Enforced?

If a breach occurs, the protected person should immediately contact the police. The police will investigate the incident and may charge the defendant with breaching the ADVO. 

Penalties for breaching an ADVO can be severe, including fines and imprisonment. Breaching an ADVO can lead to the maximum penalty of $5,500 fine and/or imprisonment for up to 2 years.
