Individual charged over brazen thefts

A 33-year-old male was charged in relation to the theft of two boats from the Sydney International Boat Show.

On the night of August 6th, it is alleged by Police that the accused stole two fishing boats from the Sydney International Boat Show using a vehicle with stolen number plates.

In total, the two Sailfish boats are worth $160,000.

It took just four days for Police officers to locate one boat in Currans Hill, Southwest Sydney and subsequently arrest the individual a week later.

The car that was used for the theft of the vessels was also seized, with police reporting that it was currently being modified.

The individual has been charged with two counts of break, enter & steal goods in custody as well as failure to disclose details in relation to the matter.

The defendant has been granted conditional bail and is set to appear before the Central Local Court on the 18th October.

The other vessel is yet to be located.
