A 21-year-old woman has died after argument with her roommate in a Brighton-le-sands townhouse turned violent.

Police and Ambulance personnel attended the scene at the Moate Avenue townhouse at approximately 6.15pm on Saturday afternoon. Upon arriving they found a woman with severe injuries to her head and chest.

The 21-year-old victim, Susan Sarkis, was transported to St George Hospital where she passed away.

Police Superintendent David Donahue stated that the owner of the townhouse, 31, is charged with murder.

“The woman suffered stab wounds to her chest and head injuries,” he said.

“Police conducting a crime scene search located a number of exhibits which led to the 31-year-old housemate of the deceased being charged with murder.”

The accused faced Parramatta local court and spoke only to tell her lawyer that she could hear him properly. The accused, described by neighbours as being “loaded” from her position as what they believe to be a senior airline executive, will remain in police custody until April when she is next scheduled to appear in court.
